This summer, I worked closely with Leah after receiving a collections notice for a 3-year-old medical bill (which had inadvertently been sent to the wrong address). Not only was she patient, sympathetic and understanding -- she also went out of her way to get the backup invoice information for me from the doctor’s office, which helped me to understand exactly what I owed money for (and I know she had to jump through several hoops to do so!) She always promptly followed up with my phone calls; gave realistic and timely estimates for how long things might take; remembered the status of my account immediately when I called; and treated me with dignity and respect.
I have heard plenty of “horror stories” about debt collection agencies on the news, and I was both pleased and pleasantly surprised to find out that my experience with one could actually be quite positive.
